Nothing Technologies will launch its next-generation smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3, in India on July 1, marking a significant step in the company’s evolution toward premium hardware offerings. Marketed as the company’s "first full-fledged flagship," the new device will feature top-tier specifications and a renewed focus on long-term software support.
The company has officially confirmed that the Phone 3 will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. This chipset, an upgrade over the previous generation used in the Phone 2, brings improvements in graphics performance, neural processing capabilities, and camera optimization. The chip also promises better connectivity and system-level efficiency.
Nothing’s co-founder and head of marketing, Akis Evangelidis, announced that the Phone 3 would ship with a "5 and 7" software update plan. This means users can expect five years of major Android OS upgrades and seven years of security patches. This is a step up from the "4 and 4" support structure offered for previous models. The Phone 2, which features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, will remain on its original support cycle.
In terms of optics, the Phone 3 is expected to house a triple rear camera system, mirroring the setup of the recently unveiled Phone 3a Pro. The configuration is likely to include a primary wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide camera, and a telephoto unit, enabling users to capture a variety of photography scenarios.
Pricing speculation suggests the Phone 3 could debut in the U.S. at around $799, which translates to approximately Rs 68,000. However, based on Nothing's established pricing strategy in India, the domestic launch price is expected to be between Rs 58,000 and Rs 60,000, making it comparatively more accessible for Indian consumers.
The upcoming launch positions the Phone 3 as a direct competitor in the premium Android segment, with its extended update policy and high-performance internals likely to appeal to long-term smartphone users.
